The film won several Filmfare Awards, including Best Actress (Mukerji), Director (Kohli), Actor in a Comic Role (Khan), Female Playback Singer (Alka Yagnik for the title song) and Scene of the Year. It lost Best Film to Yash Chopra's Veer-Zaara. Animation for this film was done by Kathaa Animations and the Special Effects by Tata Elxsi. Saif Ali Khan won the National Film Award for Best Actor in June 2005.
