The term "Human-Computer Interaction" (HCI) has been coined to describe how people interact with computers. A developing discipline that brings together professionals from diverse fields to improve the application of computer programmes and the ease with which computer users can interact with them. Learning and cognition are important aspects of HCI, and problem-based learning is a new method to learning and problem-solving (PBL). In the various levels of PBL, important cognitive functions are involved. Several cognitive functions from the cognitive function disc (CFD) will be presented and discussed in relation to human-computer interaction (HCI).
