Respect for human rights is the hallmark of a civilized society. The sacred rights of mankind are not to be rummaged for, among old parchments, or musty records. They are written, as with a sun beam in the whole volume of human nature, by the hand of divinity itself; and can never be erased or obscured by mortal power. But even in modern era, we are not conducive to practice of human rights as the society is marked with endemic poverty, illiteracy, societal fragmentation and insensitive authority structure. As a result some burning human rights issues arise like- starvation, trafficking, rape, sexual harassment, custodial deaths, police excesses, fake encounters, domestic violence, honor killings, corruption, terrorism, disappearances, atrocities and many more. All in all this means that there is urgent need of effective mechanism that can promote and protect human rights. Though, the governments have ratified some international human rights instruments but such policy has reflected very few in the domestic law. The Book is a unique combination of law and practice to highlight the international and constitutional perspective.
