Kevin J. Laws was a special agent with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). Prior to retiring in 2015, he was the HSI subject matter expert on online undercover investigations involving the sexual exploitation of children, and his work has led to the conviction of over sixty perpetrators and has saved countless numbers of children from sexual exploitation. From the time he began assisting with child exploitation investigations in 1996 though his online undercover work in child exploitative chat rooms in the 2000s, he has logged thousands of hours talking with some of the evilest beings among us. He has authored and served more than 120 search warrants pertaining to child sexual exploitation, and has taught online undercover investigations to over five hundred HSI agents as well as state and local investigators. Laws has held classes in seven countries teaching law enforcement how to investigate and convict perpetrators of child sex crimes. Now retired from field work, Laws works as an expert witness, being the voice of survivors in civil proceedings. Laws also continues to lecture about his years working online undercover as well as topics concerning the sexual exploitation of children.
