This book evaluates the technical and economic benefits for a retrofit of a biomass power plant with Concentrating Solar Power (CSP). The study is based on Codora Energia, a biomass power plant located in Brazil and it is intended to provide a practical introduction for the co-generation production with hybrid CSP-Biomass. The paper considers a boiler and a solar field, able each of them, to generate a power of 48 MWe. The Solar Advisor Model (SAM) has been used to determine the solar energy production on an hourly basis.
