The book described the outcome of a hybridization between African mudfish, Clarias anguillaris and African giant catfish, Heterobranchus bidorsalis without sacrificing (killing) of the male fish for milt (semen) collection under semi-arid zone condition. The growth performance, heterosis for both growth and survival at fingerlings and table size stages, protein profile via SDS-electrophoresis and the haematological profiles of both hybrids and the pure line progenies were described.

M. Y. Diyaware was born in Ngoshe, Gwoza LG to Yakubu Diyaware family on 30/12/1968. He attended and completed Ngoshe A Primary Sch. (1979), G.S.S. Gwoza (1984,) Fed. Fisheries Sch., Baga 1988 (ND) and MAUTECH Yola for B.Tech. M.Tech. & Ph.D. in 1997, 2006, and 2012, respectively. Former HOD Fisheries and currently a Reader, University of Maiduguri
