Arecanut crop is generally grown in north-eastern part of the world because of its high commercial value. The crop demands huge amount of irrigation water. Practicing scientific cultivation not only saves the resources but also increases yield of the crop. The study defines the classification of Arecanut crops into different intensity of disease and various ages of crop, also computes the age based crop water requirement by considering the weather parameters and crop growth stage and other parameters. Helps in forecasting the irrigation water demand of the study area. It also focused on cause for particular type of disease called crown choke and remedial measures. Water quality analysis, nutrition and soil management practices for better cultivation practices of Arecanut crop. Enables increased yield and sustainability in agriculture practices. The outcomes of this study will be useful for policy makers, administrative strategy makers and for forming community.
