Hypertension and epilepsy are significant predicators of reduced total and disability free life. Epilepsy is the second most common neurological disorder after stroke. It affects 0.5-1% of the population worldwide. Hypertension is an established risk factor for epilepsy through vascular brain damage. Hypertension is also a major factor for epilepsy with other diseases, even severe and uncontrolled hypertension might increase the risk of epilepsy. So, combination of an antihypertensive drug with an antiepileptic drug is the best way to treat epilepsy associated with risk factors from hypertension. Combination of Carvedilol and Gabapentin are relative safe in patients who are at the risk of epilepsy from hypertension.
