Numerous previous studies have demonstrated the teratogenic effect of high doses of vitamin A consumption and that it could be among the possible causes of alterations in normal development, but it is not known if even at a minimal teratogenic dose these alterations could be found. The aim of this research was to demonstrate that hypervitaminosis A during gestation in Sprague Dawley rats influences organogenesis and normal morphogenesis of the offspring.
