This study investigated the filter paper method to determine hysteresis results for laterite soil. The research employed several approaches such as laboratory experiments, modified equipment, slope stability analysis, and proposed new mathematical equations. The hysteresis process for filter paper takes place in two cycles for drying and wetting curves. For the first cycle, the drying curve takes 10 days, from saturated moisture content to residual moisture content or called wilting point. At a wilting point, no more water was available inside the soil and at this situation, the wetting path…mehr

At a wilting point, no more water was available inside the soil and at this situation, the wetting path started for another 10 days. Hysteresis done in two cycles for drying and wetting curves is obtained in a duration of 40 days. Two cycles of hysteresis result indicated the second cycle of moisture content increased compared with the first cycle.
