A native of Indianapolis Indiana, Helen Langenbacher Miles has a BS in Art Education from Ball State University. She has been married for over forty years, with four children and six grand children, all girls. Her husband traveled over 150 days a year in his career, so she was seldom able to work on her art, and when the children left home she found drawing to be lonely. Seeing her first granddaughter have an innate ability to act and sing, she was inspired to write a poem about it, and then turned it into a children's book.
