Though Brian was educated as a scientist and midcareer moved into the business world, he always loved writing. For him, creating a scene or a story line from scratch and putting it down on paper is every bit as exciting as making a new scientific discovery or setting a new business direction. The ideas for his debut young adult novel were germinated by years of telling bedside stories to his children and grandchildren about one child heroically coming to the aid of another.
