Dear Micheline, CERAP Publishing, having made the choice to specialize in works called scientific, academic, and of high culture, we are gathered here, somewhat exceptionally, to celebrate the publication of a work, which opens a collection: AFRICAN SPIRITUALITIES. Dear Micheline, CERAP Publishing, having made the choice to specialize in works called scientific, academic, and of high culture, we are gathered here, somewhat exceptionally, to celebrate the publication of a work, which opens a collection: AFRICAN SPIRITUALITIES. It is thus for me and for CERAP Publishing, a great joy to be able to do it today with this work: I Dared to Follow Him, too! All those who are the least bit familiar with this "science of the Spirit" and have already been able to dive into reading and meditating your book, acknowledge in you, Micheline, some expertise in the knowledge of the paths, which Christianity proposes.Your work is part of a tradition, which has been well established for many centuries, since it is as well about the spiritual tradition called "Ignatian," from the time Ignatius of Loyola launched it, specifically with his manuscript of the Spiritual Exercises more than 450 years ago! The connection of your own experience in this field adds to the whole legacy of this spiritual science already established and very much alive in many nations and all generations, the testimony of what it can mean in the context of a well defined African culture (namely the Bamileke culture) at the beginning of the 21st century. I will just point out what makes the scientific value of your knowledge: It connects with the universal, that is to say, the knowledge others have of the Spirit in other places and other times.Your testimony is so precious: It portrays the relevance of the science of the Spirit today in Africa, harassed by many objective problems, but even more by so many uncertainties, fears, subjective paralysis, which emerge from the fields of culture, psychology and the so-called religion...So, thank you, Micheline, for giving us the opportunity, indeed too rare, to publicly celebrate in Africa the release of a book of spiritual science, based on a testimony acknowledged to be genuine, and which links up with the universal through those who coached you throughout its production and who belong to this universality.Denis Maugenest, sj
