Mary Ann Puckett's book is a must read for anyone who is dealing with autism. Readers who would benefit from this book would not only be parents and caregivers, but also teachers, doctors, nurses, therapists, and the general public. For over three and a half decades Mary Ann has faced many challenging situations in an attempt to get help for her son. In her book she shares very heartwarming stories as well as some of the horrific hardships her son has been forced to endure. She openly discusses how autism has affected her marriage and her daughter. She shares how certain therapies and natural supplements have been used to help her son Stephen alleviate some of his difficulties and gives helpful information that that other families may want to investigate. Based on information from medical doctors and scientists, Mary Ann has compiled data on vaccine injury with the goal of empowering other parents. Her hope is that parents will look into what she has shared and avoid some of the mistakes she made by not becoming better informed prior to vaccinating her own children. Mary Ann has spent many years gathering research for her book through reading and pulling together data from articles and studies that readers can reference and use as a guide. Her experience as a special education and regular education teacher helped broaden her understanding of learning disabilities and how they impact families. The book is a compelling story as well as a wealth of information and guide for readers.
