The Sterling/Bledsoe families staged their first family reunion in Stonewall, CO.in june of 2000. It proved to be an interesting event. It was a 'first time' meeting for many of the relatives and friends of the families and brought the surprising discovery that the Great Grandmother, Katie (Sterling) Bledsoe had disappeared as a young woman in her twenties and never been found. In 2003 Johanna Butler, Great granddaughter to Katie is hosting the family reunion to be held at Stonewall again, this time in late July. As she is working on 'fliers' to be sent to all the families and friends, she received a call from her college aged neice Galena Thorpe who asked if they might spend a part of her "spring break" together. The two women decided to go to Jefferson Montana and visit the old Bledsoe ranch thinking it would be a great 'get away'. In their visiting Joanna learns that ever since Galena suffered a head injury in a Basketball game at the college last year she has had moments of Clairvoyance. Later as they walk across the old river bed toward a stand of tall cottonwood trees Galena has one of those moments as she looks at Joanna in surprise and said, "I hear a woman crying." Then pointing to the base of the trees, she said...." and she is crying from the ground." After their video presentation at the reunion; a tall, dark and handsome stranger stepped forward and read a stunning confession from a paper crumbling with age that told once and for all what had happened to Katie Bledsoe. As the stranger read, his voice deep with emotion, Joanna began to feel a joy in her heart telling her, that as one mystery had ended, another was about to begin.
