Fred G. Macdonald III retired as a Captain with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics in April of1999 after a twenty-five year career with that agency. During his time with MBN, he held many positions including Enforcement/Undercover Agent, Technical Services Commander, District Commander, Federal Task Force Agent/Deputy U.S. Marshal, Counter Smuggling Unit Commander, SWAT Commander, Special Operations Group (SOG) Commander, Director of Training, Academy Director, and Branch Director over Special Projects. During his time with MBN, Fred successfully initiated, participated in, and/or managed hundreds of the most complex and high level investigations ever conducted by the state's Drug Enforcement Agency. From Long term Undercover Investigations spanning multiple states, to planning for and managing complex SWAT operations involving some of the most dangerous criminals ever arrested in Mississippi, Fred spent many years on the "front lines" of Law Enforcement. His fifty year Law Enforcement career has also included employment with the Mississippi Highway Patrol, Pearl River Sheriff's Departmnent, New Orleans Police Department, and the Picayune Police Department. Throughout his career, he provided training to members of local, state, and federal agencies as well as every branch of our military. Fred was the Managing Instructor for the "Officer Survival Program" at the Harrison County Law Enforcement Academy for more than ten years. He has provided instructional programs for the Law Enforcement Television Network (LETN), and has published articles in the National Tactical Officers' Association (NTOA) quarterly magazine, as well as other periodicals. After helping to create the Mississippi Tactical Offiocers' Association (MTOA) in 1985, Fred served as the President of the Association for ten years. During those years, he managed all of the training and annual competetions conducted by the MTOA. Since 1992, Fred has conducted his "High Risk Event Planning System", and Tactical Training Programs contractually throughout the nation. Along with his T.I.G.E.R. Training Group he has trained thousands of Law Enforcement Officers and members of the Military from every corner of our nation and from other countries. He has received dozens of awards and commendations for his enforcement, management, and training accomplishments, from local, state, and federal agencies as well as from specialty units within the military, and from NASA.
