Maria's approach is one of engaging and entertaining with concise sentences and captivating illustrations. "I See a Bee!" was inspired by Maria's daughter. The book incorporates some of Maria's daughter's favorite animals as a baby as well as her first articulation of a complete sentence, "I see a bee!"
