I WANNA BE - A DIAMOND... SOMEDAY! Geoff McEwen, a US Navy Vietnam veteran, has been married twice and divorced twice. After his second divorce his address became the interstate, changing coast to coast in a pattern of figures-of-eight. Wherever he was, he needed to be someplace else. Imprisoned by self-doubts, insecurities, and self-deprecation he settled into a life of introspection, questioning choices, beliefs and searching for something even he could not define - as though he were living in the rear-view mirror while life flashes bye [sic]* the windshield. As though he were spectating rather than participating. On a December night, in a Montana bar, Geoff confronts a reason to reconnect with life - triggering a journey through his past experiences and old animosities. * Bye used here denotes moving through life without participation, much like the bye- weeks of sports.

Autorenporträt
I was born and reared in a small northern New Jersey town on the west bank of the Hackensack River seven miles west of New York City. Subsequent to graduation from Ridgefield Park high school and a four-year stint in the U.S. Navy I attended computer school and settled into a career as a mainframe systems programmer. Demands of marriage, family and a fulltime career in the computer field including many nights and weekends did not defeat my pursuit of a college education and after eight long years I graduated with a BA in Economics from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. An avid reader of geo-politics, history, and science, I've had a passion for writing since sixth grade where I volunteered to write a novel. It didn't get very far. Some of my best inspirations occur while sitting in bars sipping a drink and absorbing the ambiance as I scribble thoughts and scenes in a steno pad.
