IVE LEARNED THROUGH MUCH REFINING THAT I AM ABLE TO LOVE SOMEONE OTHER THAN MYSELF IN SUCH A WAY THAT NO DEBILITATION OR NEED CAN QUENCH MY DESIRE TO SERVE THEM. There are many books for those who suffer. This book is for those who come along beside someone who suffers. If you are a follower of Jesus, you will eventually find yourself at the side of someone who is hurting. Greg Fish begins with the compelling story of this wife, Barbara, who struggled with a debilitating illness that led to her death in 2015. Remarkably, she did more with her broken body than many of us do with well bodies. BY ALLOWING CHRISTS PRESENCE IN US TO MAKE US MORE EFFECTIVE IN OUR ROLE OF WALKING BESIDE OTHERS, WE ARE LEAVING BEHIND THE MODEL OF THE WORLD THAT ENCOURAGES US TO PURSUE SELF-GRATIFICATION AT ANY TURN. Sometimes through tears, and sometimes through laughter, youll find the encouragement and hope you need to walk beside others who are hurting. Discover Gods transformational power to form us into the people we need to be to love and care for the ones we walk with in this life. Each chapter concludes with helpful questions for personal or group study. Youll also receive a short prayer of blessing as you do the hard things that make a difference.
