Daniele J. Grassi was born in Austria but grew up in Italy where he attended an international school and discovered a passion for writing through a witty South Carolinian literature teacher. After almost a decade spent studying and working abroad, he moved back to his native Austria and accepted a position as a government official. Before writing Ice Cream for Refugees, Daniele was the chief of staff of the Austrian government spokesperson.
