This book attempts to investigate the feasibility of developing pragmatic competence of EFL learners through interactive websites. It tries to test if developing online platforms and using them in the teaching of pragmatics will be successful and have an impact on students' pragmatic competence. More specifically, this study uses a personally-developed interactive website to see if it has the potential to boost the pragmatic competence of the students. To measure this competence, the speech act of request and politeness were used as the building blocks on which students were pretested, given the treatment (the website's interactive activities), and post-tested. The results reveal that interactive websites do greatly improve students' pragmatic competence.
