A curriculum for training Physiotherapists should be flexible in order to cope with new knowledge and with current technological innovations and changes in health practices. When new areas for training are identified and for additions into the existing curriculum, training at higher level is recommended. Current innovations in teaching and learning methods is recommended. The training should prepare health professionals to be competent and lifelong learners.Suggestions on how to implement a competency-based curriculum is also presented.

Dr. Gladys Mengich holds PhD in Medical Education from Moi University.She is COD and Lecturer in Health Professions (Medical) Education Dept at Masinde Muliro University. Norbert Boruett is senior lecturer and HOD in Skills-Lab at KMTC.Both authors hold Masters Degree in Medical Ed. (Dundee), Higher Diploma in Medical Education and Physiotherapy.
