The Pale-winged Idia (Idia concisa, also known as Idia sp. nr. aemula since it has not been formally described yet) is a moth of the Noctuidae family. It is widespread across much of eastern North America. The wingspan is about 20 mm. Adults are on wing from May to October. There is one generation in the north-east. Larvae have been reared on the dead leaves of cherry. A moth is an insect closely related to the butterfly, both being of the order Lepidoptera. Moths form the majority of this order; there are thought to be 150,000 to 250,000 different species of moth (about ten times the number of species of butterfly), with thousands of species yet to be described
