Fiction. It's a big day for Joey Hunter, known in his Bronx neighborhood as Hunt. Not only is it his eighteenth birthday, but it's the day of his senior prom, and his date with the first girl he's ever been in love with. But things don't turn out as he expects. With his wiser-than-his-ten-years sidekick Augie, and his off-beat and mischievous high school buddy Johnnie Jay, Hunt must negotiate the highs and lows of first love, the looming vendettas from a gang of toughs, and the terrible, haunting memories of his younger brother, for whose death Hunt feels responsible.
