I gather folk tales with me as I wander the globe. In more recent years, I've gathered them as I paint community murals. So far, I have 63 murals in 27 countries. It's why I have such a varied collection of tales. Prior to murals, I lived in Asia and traveled about Thailand and the rest of Southeast Asia as much as possible. Thailand has such a rich and colorful culture. The tastes set your mouth on fire while your eyes and nose are flooded with historic sights and fragrant aromas. If It Is Truly Ours is a tale about a simple farming couple who work hard and live honestly. When they find a treasure on their property, they debate. Should we claim it? Is it truly ours? What would you do? The husband decided that they could never claim it unless it came to them. How could that ever happen? Do good things come to those who wait? You're just going to have to read a charming tale to find out.

I love all things Thai. So long ago, when I lived in the Philippines, a trip to Bangkok was a weekend getaway. I have no idea how many times I have visited Thailand. Every trip was colorful, delicious, fragrant, and so very beautiful. Bangkok is tightly packed with more than five million people, crazy traffic, and large crowds everywhere. But, I just loved hopping in a tuk-tuk (the local three-wheeled taxis) and discovering the city. There were countless little restaurants to explore -- and Thai food sets your mouth on fire! And, there are so many temples, novice monks, statues of Buddha, and antiques throughout the city. My kind of place! Bangkok was the weekend destination. If more time is in the schedule, I loved the night train up north to Chiang Mai and the Golden Triangle. If you find yourself anywhere near Chiang Mai, you must explore the night market. It's the most amazing shopping place in the world. My favorite trip to Chiang Mai was in 1998. My Hammurabi website just won a contest through Microsoft. The grand prize was a new laptop computer. And, way back in 1998, nobody had one of those! When I pulled my prize out at the train station, even the security people there wanted to see it.
