Vallerie Lewis is a former educator who has taught adult education. She also taught elementary and middle schools for seventeen years in Albany, Georgia. Her poem "Ben" is published in the book, Forever Spoken, the International Library of Poetry, Howard Ely, Editor. She is a wife (Alfonza Lewis), mother (Andréa, Alisha, and Alfonza Jr.), and grandmother (Adynn). She was born in Dawson, Georgia to Merrell (deceased) and Christine Williams. She began writing in middle school and has continued to pursue writing when inspirations guide her.
