Autorenporträt
Being emotionally centered is difficult in our current society in America. Growing up in Canada as a Caucasian woman of European descent was not easy at times. This was further complicated when I started feeling different than other people. After years of trying to hide and protect myself, I have finally accepted and am proud to be lesbian. Through many trials and tribulations, school yard incidents, classroom squabbles and such I have learned that it is okay to be different and that one should rejoice in our differences. This poetry book is written in a chronological autobiography style in the hopes that it will speak to and perhaps guide and help others who are having problems emotionally or personally to get out of the rut and feel better about themselves. Melanie Thiede is a university educated, intuitive energy work practitioner who currently resides in Canada. She has had several poems published in school yearbooks and literary magazines. Melanie has also been published by the Famous Poets Society and the National Library of Poetry.
