She is the author of The Liars' Club, which was a New York Times best-seller and named the book of the year by TheNew York Times Book Review, The New Yorker, People, and Time. She has also received the Whiting Award, a Radcliffe's Bunting Fellowship, two Pushcart Prizes, and a Guggenheim fellowship. She is also the author of The Art of Memoir and Cherry.
