When the moon wishes to be more like the sun, it will be up to the sun to help change his point of view. Feelings of inadequacy are far too common for so many uniquely extraordinary people. Yet the truth is we are all important and worthy of love. But to recognize this universal truth, we need to feel seen. In I'm The Moon, author Melissa Gillman uses the magic of poetry to inspire young children to look deep within themselves, appreciate their value, and be proud of the gifts that they alone hold. In this beautifully illustrated and thoughtful tale, the Moon is feeling unseen, unimportant and envious. Rather than recognizing his own talents, Moon admires Sun for being all he could never be. But Sun recognizes just how important Moon is. As he guides the moon to recognize his own special gifts through a poetic, heartwarming journey of encouragement, acceptance and self-love, Moon will come to realize his own vital importance and take pride in who he is while gaining confidence and a change of perspective along the way. Designed to be an inspirational, uplifting narrative depicting the familiar scenario of social comparison, the book reminds little ones that perceptions can often be misleading and by longing to be someone else, people forget who they truly are. A great bedtime read aloud for parents and children, I'm the Moon encourages little ones to shine by embracing their unique talents and sharing them with the world.Hinweis: Dieser Artikel kann nur an eine deutsche Lieferadresse ausgeliefert werden.
Raised in Orem, Utah, Melissa Gillman has worked in a variety of industries throughout her career and has been writing poetry and short stories for 20 years. Her writing is a way of finding hope and inspiration through all of life's trials. While working as an admissions consultant at a university for several years, she thoroughly enjoyed watching her students gain self-confidence and realize the many ways their personal strengths added to their families' futures, as well as their own. As a devoted single mother of five, she has watched her children struggle with self-image and self-confidence. In I'm the Moon, she hopes to inspire others, especially young children, to look deep within themselves, know their value, be proud of the gifts and talents that only they hold, and share their talents with the world.
