The issue of women s portrayal in the Egyptian media has taken a wide consideration from several researchers. Focusing on the print media, previous research found that the coverage of the Egyptian newspapers and magazines for women s issues focus on the traditional role of women as being housewives, dependent on men, and can t take leading roles or positions in the fieldwork. This monograph found that the Egyptian independent newspapers have started to take different approaches in covering women s image through reflecting their positive roles in different fields, such as economics, political, social and sports. Yet, the study comes out with some suggestions that are still required to reinforce the positive and the real image for the women in the Egyptian print media.
