The reliability of immediately loaded dental implants has been investigated since several years now, as it enables dentists to shorten the waiting period to rehabilitate the edntulous span. This multiperspective compilation has described the various loading protocols and subsequently described the rationale and the relationships between immediate loading, primary stability, implant design, micromotion, immediate implant placement, and bone character are explored. It also elucidates the role of patients, prosthodontist, oral surgeon as well as the lab technician. The reliability and predictability of immediately loaded implants as a treatment option are proposed, and recommended guidelines for the successful delivery of immediately loaded implants have been discussed. Also, the role of this protocol in various different treatment options like basal implantology, All-On-4 immediate function implants and also when using short dental implants have been highlighted. Lastly, risk factors and complications have also been elaborated upon along with some recent developments.
