In order to understand Islamic female immigrants' quest for a new identity, it have been beneficial not only to look at the socio-cultural aspects of their lives, but also to examine the great influence immigrant literature and mass media have on them. Hopefully, studies such as mine will be a positive step in the direction of a society that will be more aware of the deeply rooted problems of racism and sexism.
