Il dottor L. K. Hazarika, ex decano e attualmente professore e capo del Dipartimento di Entomologia dell'Università Agraria dell'Assam, Jorhat, ha conseguito il dottorato di ricerca presso la Rutgers University, negli Stati Uniti, nel 1986 e ha pubblicato più di 150 articoli scientifici, tra cui uno nella Annual Review of Entomology. L'immunocompetenza specifica di genere è il suo principale contributo.
