The aim of the book is to identify the role of human Metapneumovirus in children with respiratory infections. This study was conducted on 100 patients with respiratory tract infections who were admitted to Al Zahra Teaching Hospital and the AL-Forat AL-Awsat Teaching Hospital in Najaf Governorate during the period November 2020 to February 2021, Nasopharyngeal swabs were collected from patients to molecular diagnosis of human metapneumovirus by Real-Time-PCR, serum specimens were also collected from patients and control to measure the concentration of both TNF- and IL-10 using ELISA. The results obtained from nasopharyngeal samples were amplified by RT-PCR for the diagnosis of hMPV the percentage of samples were positive for the virus (53%) from (100) specimens.
