The present study is aimed to investigate the In vitro immunomodulatory activity of ethanolic leaf extract of Avicennia officinalis against stress induced psoriasis. The leaves of mangrove were first subjected to hydroalcoholic extraction using 70% ethanol followed by fractionation on the basis of polarity using 5 different solvents namely n-Hexane, Chloroform, Ethyl acetate, Ethanol and Hot water. Further, it was subjected to GC-MS analysis for the screening of phytoconstituents and the immunomodulatory effect of 70% ethanolic extract was studied by (NBT) Nitrobluetetrazolium Assay,…mehr

Further, it was subjected to GC-MS analysis for the screening of phytoconstituents and the immunomodulatory effect of 70% ethanolic extract was studied by (NBT) Nitrobluetetrazolium Assay, Candidacidal assay and Phagocytotic evaluation. The phytochemical screening revealed the constituents present in the hydroalcoholic extract and were noted. Finally, the hydroalcoholic extract showed an immunomodulatory effect by the immunosuppression of leucocytes and neutrophils effective against psoriasis. The results of the present study proved the immunomodulatory effect of Avicennia officinalis inthe area of psoriasis.
