Fourty two adult Wistar rats 7-8 weeks old weighing about 160-200 gram wererandomly assigned into six experimental groups comprising of five Wistar rats ineach group: Group 1 (control) received distilled water (1ml/rat) orally. Group 2 (IND50mg/kg) fasted for 48 h before intraperitoneal injection of indomethacin. Group 3(100mg/kg CMD+50mg/kg IND) received cimetidine (100mg/kg) orally for twoweeks. Group 4 (100mg/kg AD+50mg/kg IND) received aqueous extract of A.digitata l. leaves (100mg/kg) daily for two weeks orally. Group 5 (150mg/kg AD+50mg/kg IND) received aqueous extract of A. digitata l. leaves (150mg/kg) daily fortwo weeks orally. Group 6 (200 mg/kg AD+50mg/kg IND) received aqueous extractof A. digitata l. leaves (200mg/kg) daily for two weeks orally. Indomethacin,cimetidine and all the extract treated groups were fasted for 48 h beforeintraperitoneal injection of indomethacin (50mg/kg) for ulcer induction.
