This study explored the impact of benchmarking awareness, understanding and adoption in the production of quality products among manufacturing organizations in Benue State, Nigeria. The level to which manufacturing organisations adhere to previous accepted standards in improving product conformity is lowest compared to the other three relationship in this study. Functional benchmarking has a significant effect on product performance, but needs to be improved upon because a moderate relationship exists between them. Benchmarking in manufacturing organisations will ultimately result in positive gains. Managers of manufacturing organisations should intensify the practice of benchmarking and continuous improvement, in the pursuit of Product Quality. Defect rates and products deterioration can be improved upon; management should provide more funds to help copy and replicate and improve beyond competitors' performance in terms of best-practices and best-processes.
