Dairying in India is a female dominated enterprise. It is established that women participated in dairy and animal husbandry activities in addition to their daily household chores, as they spent more time than men in dairy production activities. The absence of institutional credits available in the rural area has led to the establishment of SHGs. The competencies required for an entrepreneur can be acquired through training and development. Training is the process of improving knowledge, skills and changing the attitude of an individual for doing a specific job. NGOs further run self help groups (SHG) who work for the betterment of the rural community.
