Even though Madurai Malli got GI, the spread of knowledge on GI and Consumer awareness is still low only. Promotion of GI products and awareness would help the producers to gain premium price within the country and international markets. Hence, above issues need to be addressed more empirically. Therefore, an attempt was made to study the awareness on GI of Madurai Malli and its Perceived Socio Economic Impact among Jasmine Growers in Tamil Nadu. This will benefit the farmers, extension workers, researchers and policy makers to know the real impact of GI in floriculture sector.
