Sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.) an important member of the family Convolvulaceae has been originated in America (Mexico, Central America) and the North Western part of South America. Globally, it is among the world's most important food crops, it ranked seventh after wheat, rice, maize, potato, barley, and cassava. The crop is also known to be a cheap but excellent source of carbohydrates, Starch, Sugars, vitamin A, calcium, and phosphorus. Odisha is the largest producer of sweet potatoes in India. A field experiment was conducted, to study the "Impact of mulching on growth and yield of sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.)" during the Kharif season of 2020-2021 at the Experimental unit of AICRP on Tuber crops, D-Block under the Department of Horticulture, Birsa Agricultural University, Kanke, Ranchi.
