Getting ISO certification is widely touted as a major boost to a company s performance, but do the results on the ground show this to be necessarily true? Many executives from certified companies would want an answer to the question Was it worth it? and those from non-certified companies would want to answer the question Is it worth it? Both groups would also desire to know the best method of determining the answers to these questions. This book proposes an assessment framework that can be used by firms to analyze the value of achieved benefits in their organization after implementing the ISO 9001: 2008 QMS. It also gives results of the survey of the impact using the framework to evaluate the performance of a number of ISO 9001:2008 certified companies in Zimbabwe. A recommendation on changes and improvements needed by the firms if they are to fully benefit from the ISO 9001 quality system was then made basing on the outcome.
