The University of Gezira was established in 1975 at Wad- Medani City, Gezira State in central Sudan. The Gezira state is one of the most distinctive and affluent areas of the country and considered to be the cornerstone of the country's economy. The University of Gezira was the first university built out of the capital Khartoum. The main vision of the University is rural community development The Faculty of Medicine University of Gezira (FMUG) main objective is to supply high-caliber graduates to serve the rural community of the Gezira area and Sudan. FMUG is a pioneer in community-oriented, community-based medical education and social accountability in the region and is the leader of innovative medical education in Sudan. The student intake started in 1978, now the school has graduated batch number 33 (2016) and has already taken batch number 39. The number of graduates is 4327. This study provides evidence for the impact of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Gezira, Innovative Programme on its Graduates.
