It stands as a transition between childhood and adulthood (Keller, Cusick & Courtney, 2007).During the stage of adolescence, the individual undergoes rapid physical changes such as an increase in height, weight and the development of secondary sex characteristics, all of which make the adolescent feel that he/she has reached mature adulthood.
