The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of vocational skills training and microfinacing in empowerment of poor women. To this end, the descriptive research method was used in order to assess the impact resulted from AAWA. The sources of data were primary and secondary data and simple random sampling method using the lottery sampling techniques to select women beneficiaries, whereas purposive sampling technique was used to select key informant about the association. In general, a total of seventy seven respondents were used as primary sources of data in this study. Out of seventy seven respondents, fifty six of the beneficiaries were assessed using questionnaires, four of beneficiaries were assessed using in-depth interview questions, fourteen beneficiaries participated in two FGD and three of top-managements of the association were interviewed. Secondary sources were reports of AAWA, pertinent national policies and strategy as well as relevant literature.
