Through this book, the authors are trying to expose the pros and cons of VRS, the reasons behind opting VRS and its utility and effectiveness in Central Reserve Police Force. There are many unquestioned and often unreasonable assumptions regarding VRS in the thinking of the employees working in force. Central Reserve Police Force should be at the centre of force thinking. But CRPF are often forgotten heroes of the forces. Being in the same profession and having a wonderful experience of about 20 years, we don't doubt the value of the topic but there is a tendency in focusing on only the importance of police organizations to squeeze the services and sacrifices of CRPF employees out of the picture. While the CRPF employees can have clearer picture about the pros and cons of the VRS and can take a cue from the experience and perceptions of the VRS opted employees, whereas employer can take decisions on planning and introduction of such schemes. The other major significance here is to understand the reactions and perceptions of the employees who continued with CRPF, so that necessary steps can be taken to rejuvenate the motivation levels of the employees who stayed back.
