Poor regulations and policies account for these inefficiencies and limit Cameroon's ability to take full advantage of its insurance potential. Life insurance regulations and policies need to better target current market failures and address structural problems to improve the performance of the sector and unleash the potential of the insurance economy in Cameroon. For, how can it be explained that under the impetus of the State, the educational sector (from kindergarten to higher education), the agricultural sector, the artistic sector and the informal sector do not systematically benefit from health cover, provident fund for all and capitalisation at lower cost (micro insurance), based on a policy of annual deduction?
