Such activities not only improve the livelihoods of community forest user group members but also help in rural development. This study was carried out in Shreechhap Deurali Community Forest Users, Thulosirubari VDC of Sindhupalchok district and Chaubas-Bhumlu Community Sawmill, Chaubas VDC of Kavre Palanchok district. Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) tools and techniques such as participatory well-being ranking, questionnaire survey, key informant survey, focus group discussion and direct observation were used to collect field information.

Kapil Dahal hat einen Bachelor-Abschluss in Forstwissenschaft vom Kathmandu Forestry College (KAFCOL). Zurzeit arbeitet er als Field Officer in Lamjung im Rahmen des Hariyo Ban Programms von CARE Nepal und hat Erfahrung in der Arbeit mit verschiedenen NGOs in Nepal im Bereich Forstwirtschaft und Lebensunterhalt. Er ist Autor und Mitautor mehrerer Publikationen.
