Human tooth biobanks are considered an important scientific tool and are increasingly present in Brazilian dentistry courses. They were set up to organize and facilitate the collection, storage and donation of teeth, formalizing their origin and destination and creating ideal conditions for the use of these organs. This paper seeks to show how the BDH was set up, from the physical adequacy project, structuring for collection, storage and allocation, document organization, functionality and bureaucratic facts to the start of its activities and its regulation.
