Mixed-use urban design projects in center cities are a complex undertaking. Numerous mixed-use developments are conceptualized each year, but few evolve into real projects and even fewer get finished. Such mega-scaled projects need pooling of resources from both public and private sectors. Hence, such projects are implemented with public/private partnerships and their successful accomplishment needs many things to fall in place. The public/private partnership has to be formed from the beginning of the project and should go till the end. "The Banks" project on Cincinnati riverfront was delayed because of various reasons.
