For many companies, the environment is becoming an increasingly important issue, with regulatory, economic and strategic implications. New environmental protection criteria must be integrated into the operation of the site to achieve and demonstrate a good level of environmental performance. In the short term, this requires the modification of part of its organization and the acquisition of new skills. In the long term, it will require a change in the culture of the facility, which, in addition to being productive, must become a good corporate citizen. It is in this perspective that this book is inscribed on the implementation of an environmental management system - EMAS - according to the ISO 14001 v 2004 standard within a fish canning company that has become aware of the need to satisfy all its interested parties, in order to control the environmental impact of its activities, products and services, and to ensure the continuous improvement of its performance.
